Cyprus is an island country located in the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is mostly mountains on the north and south and the south coast part is covered with plains. Temperatures are really hot during summers Mediterranean climate,ideal for scuba diving. Winters are cooler,however many shallow shores are open to tourists even during winter as winters are warmer then other parts of europe. Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus with a rich history and architectural background and the shores hide treasures of ancient shipwrecks and number of myths and legends of the sea. Regarding language,Greek, English and Turkish . This is a mixed cultural bag of Greek and Middle Eastern culture. The local people are quite friendly and welcome outsiders . To greet someone a handshake will be a good idea. another unique tradition is it is customary to offer the guests a small gift when invited for food!which one should consider while on a vacation in this beautiful scuba destination. dress code is casual, but the swimsuits is confined to the beaches where tourists enjoy the sun and the sea.

Taxi rentals to move around the big towns in Cyprus, is a good idea,prices are not exhorbitant and which charge according the government regulated meters. another custom like other parts of europe is tipping the drivers ,which is customary.

How to reach there
Port of Famagusta at the Ammochostos and the Port of Kyrenia, and the airport of Ercan,all had been declared as 'illegal'ports of entry, so better to check it out while planning a scuba destination in this scuba diving hotspot.
The national airline of Cypurs is "Cyprus Airways". It connects most of the major cities of Europe.several other airlines, too, serve at the airport of Larnaca, which are five kilometers away from Larnaka and fifty kilometers from capital Nicosia. Taxis can be rented to reach any destination from there ,however there is lack of buses and train services from the airport. Other services that are offered at this airport includes dutyfree shopping of some items, banking including atms, tourism and hotel reservation information, popular restaurants, car rentals,PO boxes and reservation offices. The other airport, Pafos, which is fifteen kilometers away from the city and it takes about thirty to forty minutes to reach the city from the airport.
The Limassol port and Larnaca port which connect other ports of the Middle Eastern region and Greece are the major ports of Cyprus. ferry services and cruise services are provided here.
Cyprus is not connected by roads to other countries, which is unique in its geography and climate .however roads run across the plains and hills of Cyprus connecting all the cities and towns. Buses ply on roads all weekdays except on Sundays and they run till quite late at night during summers. Tourists can get on to buses to move through the villages however they might not be very luxurious, but they are very slow. If planning to hire car, advanced booking is recommended, especially in summer as the booking is full most of the times. Do remember to carry a National driving license or International driving permit.
Since it is a popular scuba destination with good scuba diving faceilities one can consider some Duty Free Items being offered.

Most of the food artilces and items relating to agricultural products are prohibited from being exported. Explosives and fire arms are a strictly prohibed and one can get in legal complicasy if one is found posessing any!
